The DTA Programme

What is the TVET Digital Talent Accelerator (DTA)?

The TVET Digital Talent Accelerator (DTA) is a digital skills programme in Malaysia that helps TVET students and graduates build skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Web Development through IBM SkillsBuild. You can learn at your own pace, earn an IBM digital credential at no cost, and explore opportunities to connect with industry professionals and develop your career.

Is the programme really free?

Yes. Registration, all courses, the IBM SkillsBuild platform, bootcamps, mentorship, and your certification are provided at zero cost to you.

Additional opportunities, such as career webinars, mentorship, and job placement support, may be available through the Ambassador programme. The more involved you are, the more you get out of it, so the earlier you start, the better your shot at these rewards.

Who can join the programme?

TVET students and TVET graduates/alumni aged 17 and above.

I’m under 17, or I’m not a TVET student/graduate. Can I still join?

Not the DTA programme yet. You can still register on IBM SkillsBuild and earn your IBM credential.

What can I learn through the programme?

You’ll choose one of two learning pathways. Each pathway offers courses at different skill levels, so you can choose a course that suits your current knowledge and learning goals.

Pathway 1 — AI Pathway

Pathway 2 — Web Development Pathway

You only need to complete one course in your pathway to get certified.

How do I earn my IBM digital badge?

Finish the course modules and meet the course assessment requirements, including scoring at least 80% on the end-of-module assessment. IBM then issues your official IBM SkillsBuild digital badge.

What happens after I get certified?

You can claim your badge on Credly and add it to your LinkedIn profile and CV.

Want to go further? Share the DTA programme with your peers and become an Ambassador to unlock career webinars and more.

Do I need my own device and internet connection?

Yes. As the programme is delivered online, you will need a device, preferably a laptop or desktop, and a stable internet connection to access your course and participate in online activities.

Can I participate while studying, working, or doing an internship?

Yes. IBM SkillsBuild courses are self-paced, so you can learn around your existing schedule. However, live activities such as bootcamps, webinars, and other scheduled sessions may require you to attend at specific times.

The Ambassador Programme

What is the Ambassador Programme?

The Ambassador Programme gives eligible TVET students and graduates an opportunity to take a more active role in the DTA community. Ambassadors help spread the word about the programme by sharing it with their peers.

By registering for DTA, completing your IBM SkillsBuild course and earning your credential, and referring peers, you can collect points through MAJU! and compete on the leaderboard for rewards and additional opportunities — such as voucher rewards for the first 500 Ambassadors, and mentoring, career webinars and full placement support for the top 100 Ambassadors.

What is “MAJU!”?

MAJU! is the point-earning journey that tracks your participation in five stages: Mulai, Aktif, Jangkau, Unggul and Impak (the “!”). Each stage has actions that earn points. Your progress shows on your dashboard.

How do I earn points?

Points are added automatically. You can earn up to 190 points. Your points and leaderboard position can be tracked through the IBM DTA Leaderboard. You can earn points by participating in the following activities:
